Stage Left Productions - Transitions

Forum Theatre
Transitions is a self-advocacy program through which disabled youth
learn to use interactive performance to speak for themselves, to
address concerns in their lives, and to advocate for their rights
as members of the disability community so as to prepare for the
transition from dependent child to independent adult. This Forum
Theatre performance is interactive, and invites the audience to
join us in figuring out how high school can be a more integrated
and positive experience for disabled youth and identity development.

Smashing Stereotypes and Stage Left Productions have teamed up
to bring you the sequel to the critically acclaimed Still Waiting
for that Special Bus. A year ago Alan impressed Linda, dragging
his walker and himself up two flights of stairs to dance with her.
But now, on their first anniversary, Linda wants to talk about love,
sex, passion and where to put the couch! Will Alan impress her now?

journey from shame to strength opens hearts to courage, laughter
and inspiration. In The Church of 80% Sincerity, he weaves childhood
memories, scars, dreams, desires, and every day human experiences
into a funny, moving and absolutely mesmerizing evening of theatre.

Lisa Bufano - five open mouths
Boston, Massachusetts
Multi-media performance
Lisa Bufano is an interdisciplinary artist, and an award-winning
animator and doll-maker whose recent initiation into performance
based work has led to an international collaboration and support
with the University of Linz. Lisa has been the focus in art and
media for publication and broadcast, including projects with Hugh
Kretschmer (photographer), Joel-Peter Witkin (photographer), and
the BBC, among others. Lisa is a School of the Museum of Fine Arts
and Tufts University graduate.

Bonnie Sherr Klein - Shameless: the ART of Disability

Art, activism and disability are the starting point for what unfolds
as a funny and intimate portrait of five surprising individuals.
Director Bonnie Sherr Klein (Not a Love Story) has been a pioneer
of women's cinema and an inspiration to a generation of filmmakers
around the world. SHAMELESS: the ART of Disability marks Klein's
return to a career interrupted by a stroke in 1987. Always the activist,
she now turns the lens on the world of disability culture and, ultimately,
the transformative power of art.

The SOS Players - Mind Your Head

Readers' Theatre
The Speaking of Schizophrenia (SOS) Players are people living with
severe and persistent mental illness who present plays to educate
the public about the realities of their condition. By writing, creating,
and performing their own stories, the players empower themselves
and the audience to look past the stigma of mental illness, taking
ownership of a complex and terrifying disease.

In-definite Arts - Visual Art Exhibit

In-Definite Arts provides a community-based creative arts program,
for artists who have developmental disabilities, in an environment
that is rich in color, comfort, camaraderie, and creativity. These
four elements are reflected in both the artistic expression of the
artists and the social interaction of this welcoming community.
In a respectful and supportive space, artists communicate, experiment,
and express themselves through various chosen mediums: fiber arts,
ceramics, woodworking, glass, jewelry, collage, sculpture, drawing,
and painting.
